The weathers Wins! Junior Match Reports 🏏

A frustrating week this week with 5 games scheduled from under 11s to under 15’s , but sadly only 1 taking place . However what a performance it was by our Under 13’s on Monday night !!

At home to Broughton Captain Ben Andrew inserted the opposition and from the off we put in a fantastic display with the ball and in the field . 6 wickets in the 1st 6 overs reduced Broughton to 179 and despite a fightback the Barton attack kept our visitors down to a hard fought 224 . Wickets for spinner Ben Andrew with 2 for 11 , whilst seamers Oscar Moore 1 for 6 , Theo flowers 2 for 14 , Oscar Blackburn 1 for 15 and left armer George Vickers 1 for 5 claimed the victims in an excellent display . George Vickers and Rob Southee also took superb catches whilst Nathaniel had another good display behind the stumps

In reply we batted superbly , showing a range of determined defence , attacking flourish and excellent running ( in the main !!! ) . In the face of some good bowling , opening batsmen Theo Flowers (8 no) and Oscar Moore (3no) put us on a solid 212 after the first 4 overs . 4 crunching boundaries from Oscar Blackburn (20) took the score to 223 in partnership with Olly Small (3) . Another great display on 3rd by big hitting Rob Southee (9 no) and George Vickers (13 no ) who this time outscored Rob hitting 2 boundaries in the process to take the score to a commanding 249 . Last up saw the Skipper Ben Andrew and Keeper Nathaniel Bowm in partnership , and once again they produced a cracking display to put on 35 and take the score to 284 to give us our 100 runs for the night for the loss of just 2 wickets . Nathaniel ( 9 no) produced one of the shots of the night with a lovely cover drive , whilst Ben’s aggressive running saw him finish 14 no finding the boundary once .

Well played boys , a top performance from a great bunch of lads . Keep entertaining us like that please !! UTV
