Under 11’s
Thursday night saw our Under 11’s host the always very strong Louth 11’s in what was a challenging fixture . Against some very accurate and pacey bowling we fought with great determination to end up at 40 for the loss of 5 wickets so see us finish on a Nett 200 . All batsman fought hard and displayed a good defence in our toughest test of the season so far with the bat . Harvey and Lucas both top scored with 5 apiece whilst Lily found the boundary with a lovely shot for her 4 runs . Into the field and we again performed admirably to keep Louth to 85 for 3 as our bowlers hit their spots well against some excellent batting . Lily finished with 1 for 7 from her 2 overs whilst other wickets fell to Finners with 1 for 18 and Captain Lucas claimed the prize wicket of Louth’s star man to take 1 for 17 .
Under 13’s
This Monday saw us travel to a very chilly Messingham looking to make it 2 wins in succession after our win over Normanby last week . Some big hitting saw our hosts set us a challenging 251 after finishing at 91 for 5 . Wickets apiece for Oscar Blackburn , Olly Small , Theo Flowers and Ben Andrew . On bitterly cold evening we fielded very well with Ben claiming a catch off Theo’s bowling whilst Nathaniel had another good game behind the wickets with a stumping and a run out to his name
The very useful 251 didn’t worry our lads though as they cruised to a comfortable victory scoring a brilliant 105 for just 2 wickets to finish on 289 . Positive batting and running all the way through the innings delighted the band of away supporters . Oscar Blackburn (19) and Theo Flowers (3 no) set us on the way putting on plus 23 , and this was backed up by Olly Small (3 no) and debutant Spencer Leaning (11 no , including 2 boundaries) to add another 23 to the total taking us to 246 at halfway . George Vickers (9 no) and Rob Southee (5) ran excellently to add another 12 to the total , and it was left to Captain Ben Andrew (7 no) and Man of The Match Nathaniel Bowm (15 no ) to see us over the line in style adding 31 for the 4th pair . A top performance , well played lads !!
